Meet Paddington, an 8-year-old Alaskan Malamute with a heart as big as his presence. Don’t let his unique haircut fool you – this gentle giant is the embodiment of joy and affection, waiting to bring his special brand of happiness to a loving forever home.

A Story of Resilience

Despite having faced some challenges in his earlier years, Paddington’s spirit remains unbroken. Now in his golden years, this magnificent boy is ready to be treated like the royal family member he truly is. His journey at Sydney Dogs & Cats Home has shown just how much love he has to give, and how much he cherishes human companionship.

The Gentle Giant Who Thinks He’s a Lap Dog

One of Paddington’s most endearing qualities is his complete disregard for his majestic size when it comes to cuddles. This adorable goofball believes he’s perfectly lap-sized, and his enthusiasm for pats and rubs is absolutely infectious. His favorite pastime? Finding the closest human lap to claim as his throne!

A Distinguished Gentleman’s Qualities

  • Age: 8 years young
  • Breed: Alaskan Malamute
  • Gender: Male
  • Training: Fully toilet trained
  • Health: Desexed and microchipped
  • Adoption Fee: $199

The Perfect Day with Paddington

Paddington is an adventure enthusiast who loves nothing more than exploring the world through his nose. His “sniff-adventures” during walks are a testament to his curious and playful nature. While he may be selective about his canine companions, he’s more than happy to participate in meet-and-greets to find the perfect doggy friends.

Why Sydney Dogs & Cats Home?

Sydney Dogs & Cats Home is more than just a shelter – it’s Sydney’s only charity pound and community facility. Their commitment to animal welfare is demonstrated through impressive statistics from July 2023 to June 2024:

  • 779 pets found their forever homes
  • 242 pets were reunited with their families
  • Over 5,000 volunteer hours were contributed
  • More than 315 foster care homes opened their doors

What makes them truly special is their no-time-limit policy for rehomable animals. Every pet, including Paddington, gets as long as they need to find their perfect match.

Ready to Make Paddington Your King?

If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this magnificent soul, Paddington is waiting to meet you. Contact Sydney Dogs & Cats Home to arrange a meet-and-greet:

Location: 442-446 Liverpool Road, Strathfield South NSW 2136
Phone: 02 9587 9611
Hours: Monday to Sunday, 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM & 1:00 PM – 3:30 PM

Ways to Help

Can’t adopt but want to help? There are several ways to support Paddington and other animals like him:

  • Sponsor an animal
  • Volunteer your time
  • Become a Foster Family
  • Share this post with potential adopters

Remember, by adopting from Sydney Dogs & Cats Home, you’re not just giving a home to a deserving pet – you’re supporting an organization that has been reuniting, rehabilitating, and rehoming lost and abandoned animals for almost 80 years.
